Legal Affairs minister meets UN officials

In her office at the Prime Ministry, State Minister for Legal Affairs Wafaa Bani Mustafa received UN Women Jordan Representative Ziad Sheikh and Political Participation and Leadership Specialist Bushra Abu Shahout. A political will under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah aims at women’s empowerment, particularly in the political realm.

Among the most significant constitutional amendments that were recently approved were those included in the draft election law and the draft law on parties, which seek to increase participation by women and youth in politics. Ziad Sheikh praised Jordan’s efforts aimed at empowering women and removing challenges and obstacles that prevent their advancement.
